So what have I been up to this weekend? Let's see, working on a project for my data structures class...and more of working on a project for my data structures class. Since my partner doesn't know Java, I was the programmer out of the group (which is a shame as he is the much better programmer out of us two) so things took slightly longer than expected. I program for necessity, definitely not for fun, and definitely not for fun when it's for a class that is nothing more than a graduation requirement and well outside of my engineering major. In fact, I don't think I've had a single computer science course at State that I've had respect for or I've learned anything from. Maybe that's just because Engineers are given the worst possible CSC courses at state or some other reason that escapes me at the moment.
Enough of the ranting, let's talk business. Right now Derek is out visiting NVIDIA and a bunch of game developers. I don't have a list of who made the final cut yet but there were some big name developers that were supposed to be at the meeting (I saw it as a response to ATI's Valve/Shader Day). He should be back Wednesday night, just in time to put the finishing touches on his GeForce FX 5700 Ultra review. The card is looking good thus far and from what he's seen he says that the 5600U -> 5700U step is much more of what we all wanted to see from the Radeon 9600 XT. Will it dethrone the Radeon 9700 Pro as the card to get? Well, you'll just have to wait until Thursday and see ;)
These next three weeks are going to be packed full of wonderful exams and such for me so I have yet to finalize what I'm going to be able to work on (although there are a few things that I'd definitely like to tackle, some of the Prescott rumors being one of them).
I just wanted to keep you all updated, you'll see more of me this week (whether or not that's a good thing is up to you ;)...)
Take care.

do mentions of pornography *really* need to be made on a computer tech site anonymous poster #78? I think not. It's people like you that cuased anonymous posting to be banned.Anonymous - Friday, November 14, 2003 - link
yea i know i won this argument between us #77 so now go home and watch kiddie pornAnonymous - Friday, November 14, 2003 - link
#76, you are retarded. that is allAnonymous - Thursday, November 13, 2003 - link
LMFAO to #75. EVERYONE IN THE WORLD IS AS DUMB AS YOU??? DONT THINK SO!!! Wow what a usless post by this parasite who himself has not even registered with his "kiddie" accounts. I think more like kiddie porn for you. Hotmail has millions upon millions of registered users and even more with AOL. So who in their right mind would pay for an email account? Wow, you just made ANAND look reallllly bad with that post.Anand thought you were cool bro, but making people pay for their email to sign up with you is not cool

And #72, how idiotic can you be? Have you ever been on the forums before? There are over 123,000 registered members. That's right, people who aren't dumb and actually have email accounts that aren't kiddie accounts like AOL or Hotmail. And this is exactly why AOL and Hotmail were banned; because 3 year olds like yourself would bring absolutely no valuable information to the forums. If you can't setup a non-freemail account, you don't deserve to use the Internet.

Really #73? Point out EXACTLY where #71 said banning anonymous posting is good?Thought so. lol

Whats funny is that #71 is anonymous saying anonymous being banned is good. HypocriteAnonymous - Thursday, November 13, 2003 - link
anandtech is what it is because of the people who post on the news articles that are made to be posted on.Now someone like me who has hotmail and hotmail is banned for their stupid reasons has to read posts that are boring and pointless. There are no more in depth arguments or questions posed because someone needs to know the info really bad.
Frankly, this site is boring, 5 -10 posts on each article with people saying "Intel has Failed". How stupid is that. Its not a question or a discussion.
It would be great to post in forums but so many email providers have been banned. How can you ban the most popular and most used ESPs'?
Not to mention Anand hardly and now never posts anything. So people don't know what hes thinking or what was the point of making a blog if you never post on it. The recent articles have been so boring and unreadable. Ridiculous reviews from PC MAG!!!!
THis is why I said its going to its grave which is obviously the case, #70 is just ignorant

#70,If you're going to make a comment about AnandTech going to its "grave", at least know what the hell you're talking about.
Anonymous posting was instituted barely 6 months ago. AnandTech was doing fine without it, doing fine with it, and will do fine without it once more now that's it's been banned.
Get over it.

Yep, the guy knows banning anonymous posting has brought this site to its grave. And now he is reminiscing and trying to bring it back.
