So what have I been up to this weekend? Let's see, working on a project for my data structures class...and more of working on a project for my data structures class. Since my partner doesn't know Java, I was the programmer out of the group (which is a shame as he is the much better programmer out of us two) so things took slightly longer than expected. I program for necessity, definitely not for fun, and definitely not for fun when it's for a class that is nothing more than a graduation requirement and well outside of my engineering major. In fact, I don't think I've had a single computer science course at State that I've had respect for or I've learned anything from. Maybe that's just because Engineers are given the worst possible CSC courses at state or some other reason that escapes me at the moment.
Enough of the ranting, let's talk business. Right now Derek is out visiting NVIDIA and a bunch of game developers. I don't have a list of who made the final cut yet but there were some big name developers that were supposed to be at the meeting (I saw it as a response to ATI's Valve/Shader Day). He should be back Wednesday night, just in time to put the finishing touches on his GeForce FX 5700 Ultra review. The card is looking good thus far and from what he's seen he says that the 5600U -> 5700U step is much more of what we all wanted to see from the Radeon 9600 XT. Will it dethrone the Radeon 9700 Pro as the card to get? Well, you'll just have to wait until Thursday and see ;)
These next three weeks are going to be packed full of wonderful exams and such for me so I have yet to finalize what I'm going to be able to work on (although there are a few things that I'd definitely like to tackle, some of the Prescott rumors being one of them).
I just wanted to keep you all updated, you'll see more of me this week (whether or not that's a good thing is up to you ;)...)
Take care.
