Nothing beats driving after midnight around late Spring or Summer in Raleigh. The temperature is usually in the 70s and the roads are clear, making it perfect convertible, spirited driving weather. The lack of anyone else on the road makes the driving so much more enjoyable, no one around you to worry about or grow frustrated with.
For the first time in entirely too long I got to enjoy the aforementioned experience last night on my way home from the library. It was around 2:30AM, and it was probably the best 15 minutes I've had all week.
...except for the fact that a spider decided that it wanted to crawl around my windshield while I was driving. I'm sure it was probably harmless, but with the top down and seeing its desire to come in and enjoy the driving experience as well I was appropriately "freaked out." I hit the wipers, thinking I would send it flying away, but the spider hung on and decided to crawl in from the side. A quick flick of the index finger later and the spider problem was taken care of. I can't help it, I'm not a fan of bugs.
Of course today another spider happened to run across my couch while I was doing some work on the floor next to it. I couldn't find it when I searched for it as it scurried underneath unmovable couch cushions, so I think I'll stay away from that couch for a bit until I forget about it. Playing tricks on my subconscious is important to maintaining a healthy life :)
Back to ze work.
