Just wanted to chime in to let everyone know that I'm still working on the deeper analysis of the xbox 360 and PS3. Originally this article was to be fairly short, but the more I worked on it the more I realized that there's a lot to talk about.
I board a flight to Taipei in just about 24 hours, so it is doubtful that I'll finish this thing up while I'm still in LA. But for now I'm targeting a release for sometime next week. I apologize for the delay, but I want to get this thing as complete and as easy to understand as possible. Of course, then there's the nervous kid in me who is scared to death of not doing a good job that always seems to keep things from moving along as fast as they could :)
Today is my last day in LA, and only two more weeks of traveling before we can return home. It's not that I miss Connecticut, but there's something about sleeping in your own bed that is just so much better than going from hotel room to hotel room.
I'll try and post another update before I leave, but if I can't get around to doing it I'll drop you all a line when I've recovered from the 14 hour flight to Taipei. Luckily this time I'm flying from the West Coast, so it's not ~20 hours in the air to get to Taiwan. Lucky me :)
Take care.

Hey Anand, go to the motels if your wife is accompanying you. In fact, i believe you'll arrive in the city of tao yuen (not actually taipei) where the international airport is. Go to a motel called "So Ho" you wont be dissapointed ;). in fact, it's better than the Hotels, and it's cheaper, but classier. Once you get there, you're jaws will drop as if you have the R520 with you to take home (or the G70)Knitecrow - Wednesday, May 25, 2005 - link
Anand,Much appreciated. I'll take quality any day over a rushed product.
I really liked the cell article -- it was easy to understand and yet had a lot of depth.

The funny thing about blog link is that someone corrects him using the very cell article Anand wrote.

Although we can postulate, I don't think the real world difference can be known without talking to developers who have experience with both mediums and seeing final products. Considering PS3 developer kits were sent out like 2 months ago... I wouldn't expect much.
1up.com has a 360 developer roundtable. Its doesnot go into details (which is unfortunate), but gives you some idea.

I assume you're going through Narita (Tokyo, Japan) to get to Taipei. If you have time, check out the "capsule" hotel rooms in the airport. They're great for catching some zzzz's before heding off to your next destination. After having you butt glued to a seat for such a long time, I love to get horizontal for a while. I can't sleep sitting up.gnumantsc - Wednesday, May 25, 2005 - link
With all those miles travelled anand I'm surprised there's no traveller's guide on the site rating how good eat hotel is and where the hangouts are :)GhandiInstinct - Wednesday, May 25, 2005 - link
Anand,If you could also add a blurb in there about the future proofness of the PS3 as Sony claims, even though it's coming out half a year from now and perhaps PC technology would have evolved to close or equal to the PS3's state.

hey Anand...thanks for doing this...I look forward to the article. I have two requests...1) please tell us the difference in theoretical and real-world performance of both machines...
2) Read the analysis of Procedural Synthesis etc...maybe you could get more ideas about the X360 architecture through it:

Also read this:
